As a practice, we are true believers that preventive care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”. That’s why we focus on thorough exams during your routine cleaning appointments – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary. Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.
Patient Comfort
We realize some patients are more apprehensive than others then it comes to receiving dental treatment. Due to today’s technologies, dental procedures are done more efficiently than ever before and are virtually pain free. We have many methods to help you relax in our office. Nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas” as it is often called, offers an excellent alternative for many people without the high risks and costs associated with putting patients to sleep. When needed, Dr. Ritter selects medications to mildly sedate and calm patients before and during procedures. All of our staff members are trained to make your visit as pleasant and pain free as possible. If you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, it’s time to come back! We know you’ve heard “painless” before – give us a chance to prove it to you. Our goal is to ensure you feel relaxed here in our warm, understanding and nurturing environment.
Infection Control and Patient Safety
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Each member of our staff is trained in the most recent infection control techniques, as well as in CPR.
